BASIS Independent Silicon Valley really lived up to what I was expecting in terms of all of the courses, and the diverse community with all of its programs. When people of different grades can work together and apply what we've learned in our school subjects to put together a competitive program and team, I think that's what really stood out to me over the years.
The BASIS Independent Silicon Valley teachers make you want to push yourself. They make you interested in a subject, they make you want to delve more into it, so you end up doing way more than you ever thought you could.
We are passionate about teaching students to think critically, to make connections, and to pursue their ambitions unafraid of uncertainty. Our values manifest as a series of deliberate, thoughtful processes that every student must face to embody fully our school’s legacy of academic excellence.
Since our founding in 2014, we have been steadily building a comprehensive sports and athletics program ranging from interscholastic, competitive team sports to individual after school activities. Our approach to athletics promotes healthy competition and empowers students with the discipline, grit, and persistence to become leaders on and off the court.
From cooking to theatre, coding to History Bowl, our clubs & activities help students grow into well-rounded learners and discover their passions. Our unique approach to clubs & activities at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley empowers students to create or help develop a program where they see a need beyond what is offered.
Our educational philosophy is centered around student autonomy and self-advocacy. To support these values, we’ve designed specific services to help empower students when they come to school each day. We also offer many critical auxiliary services such as before-and after-school care, and transportation.
Our content-rich curriculum is complemented by many opportunities for students to see ideas in action—both in and out of the classroom. We delight in giving students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of course material and how it relates to the world around them and explore problems from new angles.
Learning and fun don’t stop when the regular school year ends! BASIS Independent Summer offers a variety of enrichment and academic programs and is conveniently located on our school campus and designed by our expert educators and staff.
