Dr. Davies is a Chemistry teacher who came to us from The Harker School in San Jose. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Applied Chemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa and a Ph.D. from Leeds University in England. Dr. Davies also spent one year at Brigham Young University doing research in multidimensional super-critical fluid chromatography. Additionally, she has co-authored 33 papers which were published in peer-reviewed journals such as Analytical Chemistry. After graduating, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and worked for KLA-Tencor, Matheson, Varian and Hitachi before switching to a teaching career.
"I enjoy spending my days with young people; one of my goals as an educator is to develop a deep passion for science in my students," she says.
When Dr. Davies is not working, "I like to spend time with my four children."
