Melanoma Week 11

May 04, 2019

This week, I was able to work on more QSI plots with my external advisor, and I continued working on my presentation for my final project. I have also started to figure out what I want my poster to look like. I hope to make it very visual and organized in a way that is understandable and succinct. One thing that I hope to emphasize in my presentation is just how monotonous and redundant the research was. When I first started, I was really excited to be on board this project and looked forward to getting results of any kind. My findings, rather than pointing to any new substages, just emphasized the importance of tiny details in finding those new substages. One incorrect annotation could cost the entire project, which means everything needs to be perfect. Doing this with very little interactive guidance during the annotation process and a lot of interaction after each slide is complete made this very gruesome, as I would have to redo the same sample repeatedly until my annotations matched what Dr. Nguyen envisioned. I really want to make sure that any juniors taking on research projects for next year know exactly what they are signing up for.
