Short Circuit

Apr 14, 2019

Unfortunately, due to college visits and completely unwelcome fever symptoms, I was unable to be sufficiently productive this week. Due to the fact that I am significantly running behind in terms of where I need to be, this will prove to be severely detrimental to the overall extensiveness of my project. Therefore, instead of wearing myself out too thin and sacrificing quality in the name of covering all the intended bases, I have instead decided to provide a proof of concept for all of the distinct parts of my project, focusing especially on the product and its potential interface.

Although I have gathered the necessary amount of participants, I will have to inform them that no official study will be conducted, at least at this juncture. Instead, I will postpone the study until after the projected end date of the Senior Project, thereby ensuring that I am able to lower the currently exorbitant costs and decrease the complexity of setup so I am able to survey participants representatively and consistently. I will still, however, test the water conservation model inside my own home, and separately develop a basic interface, without engaging too heavily in the text file to database exporting portion. Essentially, I will be providing a prototype of the product, acknowledging its current limitations so as not to make the amount of necessary work overwhelming and unfeasible in the given timeframe. I hope I recover from this sickness soon so my work is not hampered further.

I hope you’re feeling better! I think it’s a good idea that you modified your project instead of trying to present something with insufficient data. Feel better 🙂
