Week 4: More Machine Learning

Mar 18, 2019

To Fellow Readers:

Welcome back to the Fourth Weekly Installment of my Senior Project blog! Thank you so much for stopping by again this week, I am excited to tell you more about what I have been learning!

This week I continued on the course I have been taking, moving on from Classification to Asssociation Rule Learning and Reinforcement Learning. Association Rule Learning is where machines find relations between variables in a rule-based manner. It is similar to one of the ways of which humans learn, where given enough sets of data, we can start to draw conclusions and relations that we notice between the data sets (kind of like pattern recognition). Reinforcement Learning is giving the machine learning algorithm a “reward” based on how accurate it was at completing the task. The algorithm is geared towards completing the task as well as it could to maximize the “reward” it gets for completing the task. Next week, I hope to start creating a project that will be using the Machine Learning algorithms that I have learned these few weeks and allow users to help a machine learn how to classify music into several general categories. This data will then be used later on when the machine is making decisions to select the best fit song for a particular set of photos.

Thank you so much again for stopping by and reading my blog, I hope that you that you learned a bit about ML. Hope that you will stop by again next week!

This is an intriguing project. I am interested in seeing a demonstration or a beta version of a final product using your research.

Thank you for the understandable explanation of the concepts above! I agree with the comment above; a demonstration would be nice to have.
