Alana Mbanza earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and continued on to receive her Master of Arts degree from the University of California in Los Angeles.
Ms. Mbanza has spent the past five years as a postsecondary advisor and is passionate about supporting students and parents through the college application and decision-making process. Ms. Mbanza is eager to bring her knowledge of college admissions and student learning to her role as College Counselor and Dean of Students.
"My philosophy of advising centers on the concepts of match and fit, which emphasize a deep understanding of a student's academic and personal goals,"”" she says. My goal is to support all students in developing greater self-awareness and self-confidence, which will allow them to make a responsible and informed decision about the next step in their academic journeys.

In her spare time, Ms. Mbanza enjoys visiting used bookstores, libraries, and cafes.
