Ms. Lopez graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. As a senior, she was inducted into the Chemical Engineering honor society Omega Chi Epsilon. As an undergraduate, Ms. Lopez did research on alternative food thickeners currently found in many everyday foods. She worked in a refinery as well as in the plant design field, and has worked on designing chemical plants from petrochemical to pharmaceutical to chemical all across the United States and Canada.
As the registrar at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley, along with tracking daily attendance, Ms. Lopez interacts with the teachers, students and parents to make sure their school documents such as progress reports, transcripts, etc. accurately reflect the hard work they are doing every day. She enjoys the dynamic atmosphere, and helping the students get the information to various programs.
“I chose BASIS Independent after researching different schools in the area; I was familiar with their academic philosophy, and I was thrilled when I was hired into this exciting organization,” says Ms. Lopez.
She loves exploring the state of California by hiking, biking and camping.
