Mr. Lizardo, BASIS Independent Silicon Valley's founding economics teacher, has his eyes set on getting to see the world as an economist. "From my first reading of Freakonomics, I was fascinated by how social phenomena could have interesting explanations when analyzed through an economic lens. I want students to see the world with those same eyes," says Mr. Lizardo. "I was impressed but not surprised that BASIS Independent taught economics to 8th graders. It is a useful tool to get students to think critically, and students are served well by having it taught 4 years earlier than the rest of students in California."
In his free time, Mr. Lizardo is an avid board gamer. He even has a collection of over 100 games!
