Each day, Dr. Parson is prepared to bring history and law to life for his students. "My senior thesis was about baseball during the Great Depression, and published at Santa Clara University," said Dr. Parson. After studying law at the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, he was admitted to the California Bar, practiced law, and served as a law clerk to a federal judge. He also received high honors for his internship with the U.S. Attorney's office in Sacramento.
Turning from law to teaching at a local private school, Dr. Parson discovered his penchant for education, "I look forward to going to work on Monday morning, socializing with students, connecting with the class, and learning from the students."
"I am delighted to share my love of American Government and the political process with the students at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley," said Dr. Parson. "Experience as a lawyer and my love of the law will give students an understanding at a wholly different level."
The father of three active children, and self-admitted die-hard fan of the San Jose Sharks, San Francisco Giants and 49ers, Dr. Parson avidly mixes his love of sports and love of technology as a devoted Fantasy Football participant.
