Mr. Lee

Director of Academic Programs

With classroom experience from 3rd to 12th grade teaching Algebra, Physics, Biology, English and Physical Education, Mr. Lee brings a broad portfolio of expertise to 5th Grade Prep students. Drawn to BASIS Independent Silicon Valley by the level of excellence exemplified by the students and staff and the opportunity to be a part of the Founding Faculty, but most by the immersion in a highly rigorous academic environment. Mr. Lee had first earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of California at Davis in Business Management and, shortly after, his Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University in Management Information Systems.

Since the Fall of 2015, Mr. Lee has stepped into his new role as Dean of 8th and 9th grade students. "I wish to support my students with all the tools and encouragement they need to fulfill their academic and social goals. We here at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley want our students to be empowered," he says firmly. "I chose BASIS Independent because of the emphasis on student accountability coupled with subject matter experts who love to teach. It is exciting to have teachers who are motivated to teach students who are just as motivated to learn."

An avid golfer, Mr. Lee also has a love of cooking and eating, combined with a desire for international culture, "I want to travel the world eating as many different cuisines as possible!" He has also recently been experimenting with smoking foods!
