Ms. Jones

Spanish Teacher

Ms. Jones was born and raised in a small town called San Sebastián in the west side of Puerto Rico. She attended “Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico” where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Level Education-Minor English as a Second Language. She has completed the No Child Left Behind paraprofessional certification as well as the State of California Bilingual Services Provider Certification.

Ms. Jones’ goal as the Spanish I, II, III, and AP Spanish Subject Expert Teacher is to “develop high levels of proficiency, incorporating multiple in instructional activities, explore different Spanish cultures and inspire scholars to continue to Study Spanish throughout their high school years and beyond.”

“I enjoy teaching at BASIS Independent as its focus is on preparing scholars for any challenges they will face in their life in college. As a Spanish teacher I have the opportunity to incorporate Spanish culture in their lessons each day through language and related activities,” says Ms. Jones.

She enjoys going to the movies with her husband, spend time with family who live in Puerto Rico. She also likes to listen to music, dance, swim, and play volleyball.
