Curriculum Coordinator

Ms. Jones attended San Francisco State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis in Literature. After a few years, she returned to the University driven by her strong desire to become an elementary teacher. She received her preliminary teaching credentials for grades K-5, then began substituting at Alum Rock Union School District and San Jose Unified.

Starting in 2016, Ms. Jones has taken on the role as Curriculum Coordinator where she maintains student schedules, coordinates assessment administration, and manages records for teacher substitutions and gradebooks. Ms. Jones is motivated by her sincere philosophy that teachers play an important role in student's lives by assisting them in reaching their true potential. She also believes BASIS Independent's curriculum is well-rounded and its overall model challenges students to excel no matter what level they are at. "One of the reasons I was attracted to BASIS Independent Silicon Valley is because their attentiveness to students' needs inside and outside of the classroom," says Ms. Jones.

In her spare time, Ms. Jones enjoys playing with her two boys, reading, drawing, and practicing yoga - which she finds relaxing after a long day.
