In 2010, after graduating from high school in Texas, Ms. Belcher moved to North Carolina to attend the University of North Carolina at Asheville on a full scholarship. In 2013, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with Distinction and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. August 2016, Ms. Belcher graduated from Stanford University with a Master of Arts in International Education Policy Analysis with a focus on research.
Ms. Belcher serves as a College Counselor and as a coordinator and mentor for the Senior Research Projects. “With BASIS Independent, I hope to inspire students to use their knowledge to make meaningful change in the world,” says Ms. Belcher.
“I am excited to work at BASIS Independent because of the model they are setting for an exceptional educational opportunity,” she says. “I firmly believe the best way to educate is through inspiration and there is no better way to do that then through excited Subject Expert Teachers. These students will change the world.”
Ms. Belcher continues, “In order for education to be meaningful, it must also be applicable. I strive to make the content relevant and applicable by connecting it to larger ideas and structures.”
When not in the classroom, she has a thoroughly developed wanderlust. She craves cross-country road trips and embraces opportunities to explore. She is also entirely addicted to aerial silks and other circus arts!
